A Fabulous Fat Quarter

Novel ideas with novelty fabrics from 4my3boyz.com

They say that need is the mother of invention, right? In 1999, as a newly divorced mother of three young boys, I needed a job. I decided to join in the Internet marketplace wave and began selling novelty fabrics by the fat quarter on ebay and Amazon. Out of need my business was born, and to remind myself what I was working so hard for, I named it "4my3boyz." What began as a job quickly became a business and career I'm truly passionate about.

Today, 4my3boyz Fabrics has grown in every way. In 2012, we moved into bigger building, an old farmhouse stocked to the rafters with fabric. We now have six employees, and a wide customer base that stretches around the world. (G'day mates!) We've become known for our wide array of novelty fabrics of the most unique and hard-to-find varieties. You need a fat quarter with dill pickle slices on it? Yeah, we've got that.

And my three boys? Well, they've grown up too. They're well on their way to adulthood, forging educational and career paths of their own. I'm so proud of them, and I think they're pretty proud of me too.

So, why blogging? From the beginning, I've always enjoyed getting to know my customers, so branching out into blogging seemed like a natural way to further my relationship with all the wonderfully creative quilters, crafters, and DIY divas that have been frequenting my online stores for all these years. Here you'll find original crafting ideas, plus fabulous inspirations from around the Web, tips about running a home business, and occasionally a photo of my dog. I hope you'll continue to stop in, kick your shoes off, and stay a while.
